About
Koku Bakeshop

Koku Bakeshop is a cozy cottage bakery based on the Main Island of Alameda, California. We specialize in small-batch pastries and breads inspired by the flavors of our Taiwanese, Vietnamese, and Korean heritage- think black sesame, miso, milk bread, and more!

The name Koku is a blend of love and fluff, honoring our two beloved pups, Koa (a German Shepherd/Husky mix), and Riku (an Aussie). They're not just our mascots- they're part of the heartbeat behind everything we do.

Every item baked from our kitchen is made with care, curiosity, and a little wag of joy. Thanks for being here and sharing a piece of our story.

The Baker
Hi, I'm Jaclyn Thach- the self-taught baker and owner behind Koku Bakeshop. After leaving my corporate job to follow my love for baking, I started Koku from our tiny apartment kitchen in Alameda. Inspired by my Taiwanese and Vietnamese roots, as well as my husband's Korean heritage, I bake small-batch pastries that celebrate the nostalgic flavors we grew up with.
